Arrow
started out his show career at 6 months of age when he took a 4-point major at
his second show. He finished at the 2001 Milwaukee Specialty. At the 2002 Chicago
Specialty he won Best of Breed under Judges Education Chair, Phyllis Brayton.
Arrow ran with Wayne Curtis's all Siberian Team Stormwatch in the 2004
Iditarod. He did not finish the Iditarod, but did finish the Goose Bay 200. When
home, he also run's on Kep's team.
At the 2004 Nationals in Greenville,
S.C., Arrow did something for me that no other dog had ever accomplished. His
Father, Walker and his Grandmother, Kitty came within the Top 20, but Arrow won
an Award of Merit at a National Specialty! Not only did he win an Award of Merit,
but he went on to win Best Sled Dog, therefore retiring the Traveling Trophy for
co-owners Wayne & Chris Curtis. And to top things off, last April,
Arrow won his 3rd Specialty Best of Breed under Kathleen Kanzler at the Minnesota
Specialty. And to sweeten the pot, his daughter, Crimson, finished her Championship
the same day!
Arrow was also bred to Ch. Charlyn's Joyous Celebration,
producing Ch. Charlyn's Black Tie Celebration and Ch. Charlyn's Crime Scene Investigator.
I watched both of these boys cross the finish line in Nome Alaska on March 15th
2008 after completing the Iditarod for Wayne Curtis. |
